  • Customer Sales Coordinator

    Job Summary:

    As a Customer Sales Coordinator you will be managing a portfolio of customers, you will have the opportunity to build good relationships with those customers which will also allow you to be reactive to issues before they become a problem.  Providing excellent customer service should be a passion of yours, where you love to go the extra mile and take huge amounts of pride in your work.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Delivering second to none customer service to the customers, dealing with a wide range of day to day queries around, orders, products and returns.
    • Communicating clearly and working closely with your Sales Manager.
    • Build and develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure customer needs are met.
    • Handling customer calls and emails in relation to orders, delivery and general enquiries.
    • Ordering processing and fulfillment for assigned customers.
    • Processing customer returns

  • Field Service Engineer

    Job Summary:

    This is a full-time field-based role, supporting customers across Manchester and surrounding areas. You will be on the road 4 to 5 days per week, with occasional overnight stays required.

    Being an experienced Mechanical/Refrigeration or Electrical Engineer and based from home, you will travel to your customer appointments, delivering excellent customer service at all times. 

    You will be tasked with the installation, repair, and maintenance of laboratory equipment to schools, universities, hospitals, and other laboratory environments. You will work closely with your fellow Field Engineers, supporting them with projects and maintaining great communication with the service administration team.

    We will supply you with the tools and test equipment you require as well as a company vehicle in order to fulfil your role to the very highest standard.  Previous experience working within a similar industry would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.

    The Ideal Candidate:

    • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
    • Be able to Coordinate your own work schedule with a proactive approach and in a highly organised manner.
    • Ability to trouble shoot analytically and problem-solve.
    • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
    • Assuring the highest level of Customer Experience to achieve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Producing and supplying timely and accurate reports of your activities to the customer and administration team: e.g. Electronic service/calibration reports and expense submissions.
    • A strong team player, working remotely with the ability to connect with colleagues and management.
    • Self-motivated, and ability to work under pressure.
    • Full driving license required.

  • Life Science Sales Specialist

    Job Summary:

    To keep pace with customer demands and the growth we have seen in 2022/23, we are recruiting a Life Science Sales Specialist covering the Midlands region on a permanent basis to join our innovative and fast paced business. This is a new role to support and expand the growth we have experienced in this territory.

    We are looking for an experienced, hardworking, individual who is organised and methodical with a determined approach to network through large, complex organisations with the aim of growing and retaining existing and new relationships. You must be ready to give 100% at all times.

    This role is field-based selling laboratory consumables, reagents and equipment aimed at Life Science research. There is an existing customer base which needs to be built upon and extended, so a technical Life Science background and Business Development skills will be essential to succeed. You will immerse yourself into the world of academia, research, biotech, clinical, pharma or industrial laboratory environments. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Achieve Sales and Margin target set by the company.
    • Visit customers to promote and sell the SLS Life Science range.
    • Provide technical and product support to the Sales Force and customers.
    • Support the Field Sales Team with customer visits and demonstrations or any other required field/ remote selling activity.
    • Provide customers with timely responses and quotations.
    • Generate leads for key suppliers and provide regular feedback on open opportunities.
    • Attend joint customer visits with key suppliers. Attend product training sessions hosted by key suppliers.
    • Support Field Sales Team in key flagship accounts.
    • Work with key suppliers and Field Sales Team to create territory plans, selling strategies and regional Marketing Promotions.
    • Identify new business opportunities within the territory.
    • Provide Monthly Report of activity, supplier meetings and open opportunities.
    • Advise ‘Sales Manager - Life Science Products’ of new market trends in the Life Science sector.
    • Manage and maintain CRM to capture data on activity, leads and actions.

    The Ideal Candidate:

    • Must live in/near Nottingham, Leicester, Birmingham, Warwickshire.
    • Broad experience of selling Life Science consumables and equipment
    • Strong technical knowledge of Life Science Research, including disciplines such as Molecular Biology and Cell Biology
    • Strong commercial awareness
    • Ability to manage own territory by identifying and capitalising on opportunities.
    • Relationship builder.
    • Strong negotiation skills.
    • A team player who can work effectively with a range of internal stakeholders. Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
    • Able to prioritise workload and manage time effectively.
    • Self-motivated and driven (goes beyond the “9 to 5”)
    • Ability to motivate and influence others within the SLS Sales Force to sell Life Science products.
    • Full UK driving licence is essential for this role, as you will be travelling around the region to your customers daily.

  • Business Sector Manager - Biotech & Pharma

    We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Business Sector Manager to join our innovative & fast paced business covering the UK.  In this role you will lead national sector strategy with autonomous ownership of key network relationships. Working closely with Regional Managers and other Business Heads this is a key role in delivering our company growth milestones.

    Based anywhere within mainland UK within reason. The role will be largely home based with the expectation to visit key accounts and customer sites as and when required.

    Job Summary:

    Reporting to the Head of Business Sectors the successful candidate will maintain and expand current relatio

    nships with existing biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies both directly and indirectly through membership networks and consortia. The major focus of this role (75%) is managing the growing business with Amici and Amici clients. 25% of time will be spent developing and looking for other Biotech and Pharma opportunities and networks.

    This is a hybrid type role consolidating traditional, senior key account management activities, but also exploring business development opportunities and contract management. Day to day sales activities at these accounts will be managed by our extensive field-based Territory Sales Managers (TSM’s).

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Working closely with TSM’s you will facilitate and coordinate joint meetings paving the way for follow up sales activities in keeping with your overall sector strategy.
    • Self-determining responsibility for overall national strategy leveraging on key contacts and professional procurement personnel and facilitating TSM access to accounts for them to sell.

    The Ideal Candidate:

    • Experience working with Biotech/Pharma customer sector is a must, ideally with additional experience and existing relationships at membership organisations. Examples of which: OBN, One Nucleus, Bionow and BIA.
    • Scientific sales background ideally with sector responsibility or key account management experience.
    • Relationship management with procurement personnel would be advantageous.
    • Good understanding of how Amici operate: ideally with some interaction experience either with Amici themselves, or their member organisations.
    • A practical lab-based background is preferred but not essential.
    • Broad understanding of SLS as a distributor, our product portfolio and niche within the marketplace.
    • Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally.
    • Consultative approach with the ability to bring working groups and parties together.
    • Self-motivated and self-disciplined.
    • IT literate with experience of CRM and BI packages essential together with general Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
    • Confident presenter.

    A Full driving licence is essential as visits to customers sites and attendance at conferences/exhibitions across the UK are expected.
